Religious Right fears "The Green Dragon"

Without an ounce of self-awareness the following video was made.

“Radical environmentalism is striving to put America, and the world, under it’s destructive control.”

“...Millions falling prey to its spiritual deception.”

“Around the world environmentalism has become a radical movement. Something we call ‘The Green Dragon’—and it is deadly. Deadly to human prosperity.  Deadly to human life. Deadly to human freedom. And deadly to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”

Guest Starring:

Bryan Fisher: Known bigot, hate monger, and theocrat; says environmentalism is a deadly threat AND its own religion.  Why do the Jeebus Freaks always, always assign anything they fear and despise to religion status? Science, evolution, environmentalism, atheism, etc. ALL religions apparently.

Dr. E. Calvin Beisner: Environmentalism is a cult. Not unlike Christianity one would suppose.

Tony Perkins: I’m shocked to report that the Mr. Perkins is also a bigot and hate monger. It’s weird because I thought Christians were supposed to be peaceful, loving and nonjudgmental. Oh right...he said some stuff. Environmentalism is bad because it points people away from God and into Humanism.

I don’t follow that logic since I know plenty of Christians (the progressive kind) that are hippie, environmentalist types. They probably just aren’t real Christians, right Tony?

Dr. Richard Land: This one takes the cake. I mean...the lack of self-awareness and irony made me laugh out loud (also known as “lol” with the kids). “Environmentalists have a long history of believing and promoting exaggerations and myths.”

Let us repeat that: “Environmentalists have a long history of believing and promoting exaggerations and myths.”

David Barton: *shakes fist* “Environmental Science simply does not have a good track record. Not at all!”  Unlike David Barton who is a known hack.

Bryan Fischer: again. “Exaggerations, myth and outright lies are commonplace in the environmental movement.”

Until Bryan said “...the environmental movement” I was on the edge of my seat hoping he would say “religion.”

Tom Minnery: some boring corpse from Focus on the Family. NEXT!

Wendy Wright: Saying some stuff about environmentalists and “even some Evangelical groups” (see “Not Real Christians”) condemning poor people to a bad life. :(  As if it is that simple. Wendy Wright...where do I know that name from?  Oh right. Dawkins argued with her and it made my brain hurt.

Bishop Harry Jackson: Somehow environmentalism is a war on the poor. And it should stop.

Unknown wet towel: “Scaring little children to achieve your political ends is reprehensible.”  Fuck me. Are you serious?

“Hey little Billy! Sorry about that cancer you got from living near a landfill, but I hope you were a good little boy so you don’t reject Jesus and BURN IN HELL FOR ALL ETERNITY!”

Get bent, you asshole.

That woman returns with some closing “argument” but all I heard was blah, blah, blah, faulty science, blah, blah, blah, obey, blah, blah, blah, dominion, blah, blah blah, god...

God IS Nature.
it is our moral duty to preserve God and stop pretending that all of our consumption and money-making schemes from raping the environment is what God wants. Wake up - do we really want to live in a world with no nature? Air that makes us sick? Schools abutting factories that pollute? Garbage on our streets? We must works to preserve what is left of God's beauty - the forests, animals, and everything He created. Not preserve our own self interests so we can keep making money and reeping the benefits His world.

This whole thing makes my brain hurt. But the line about "scaring little children" being reprehensible, has to be the worst.
