Random Quotes: Religious Set Aside Their Differences…for Hate

The Catholic Church is increasingly getting desperate and exposing the true nature of religious discrimination. The highest ranking Catholic emissaries in the United Kingdom are attempting to form an alliance of Catholics, Anglicans, other Christian denominations, Jews, Muslims and Sikhs;, in order to enforce their various religion’s hateful doctrine. Isn't inter-faith work fun!

Via The Telegraph - Gay marriage: Pope representatives calls for Catholic alliance with Muslim and Jewish groups
“I wonder if we shouldn’t ask for and look for more support among other Christian confessions and indeed, persons of other faiths,” --Archbishop Mennini
“It seems to me that, concerning the institution of marriage, and indeed the sanctity of human life, we have much in common with the position of the Jewish community, the Chief Rabbi and many of the more significant representatives of Islam.” --Archbishop Mennini
“We will work with anyone who agrees with us that to redefine marriage is not a good thing for society and will lead to more confusion.” --Archbishop Peter Smith
Lord Singh, of the Network of Sikh Organisations, stated that marriage equality is “a sideways assault on religion.” Yes. The world revolves around your religions and everything that doesn't conform to them is attacking you. When will duelists ever learn?

I have to say that I am always suspicious when the disparate religions get together and defend each other. It's almost as if—deep down—they all know its bullshit, but feel the need to circle the wagons.

In any event, how can we be expected to be tolerant of religions that preach intolerance?

Meanwhile the Flying Spaghetti Monster has demanded that everyone be treated equal
and to generally try and not be dicks to each other.

When G.H.W. Bush made nice nice with Syria during the first gulf war I wrote to him and told him that he was choosing some very strange bedfellows just to ensure the free flow of oil.
In the same manner I accuse these religious leaders of getting into bed with each other just to make hate on gays, to deprive hundreds of thousands of men and women their civil rights, to maintain their outdated world view no matter how many of their own adherents are damaged or harmed.
Religions banding together for common cause used to be a good thing - assuage hunger and thirst and poverty. Now it's just another way to hate - and simultaneously reveal themselves as bigots, allies in evil and desperate to hold onto the shreds of their filth-tattered holy skirts so they can cover their naked perversion of Jesus' teachings.
Filthy dogs - every one of them!
