It feels redundant to keep using Tony Perkins for SMH, but we feel somewhat obligated to call attention to his blatant hate speech.
This particular letter was an attempt to raise funding for the Family Research Council by targeting the "It Gets Better" campaign. If you didn't know, this is an initiative to offer support to LGBT youth. This is particularly significant in light of a recent study linking high suicide rates to areas of high concentration of social conservatism and lack of gay rights support programs.
Perkins prefers to call these kids "disgusting" and "immoral." One would think that an organization with the word research in the title would read some of it.
